Characteristics of Hypertrophic Scar New Skin Laser (Pinhole Method)
Scar improvement may be difficult with the application of just one type of laser.
New Skin Laser is a customized treatment process that considers the unique characteristics of each individual's scars.
1. CO₂ and Erbium YAG: Utilizing Different Lasers for Different Areas
For wide and firm types of scars, CO₂ laser provides sufficient stimulation,
while thin and sensitive areas are delicately approached with an Erbium YAG laser.
After thoroughly checking the characteristics of the treatment area, the medical staff directly selects the equipment.
2. Customized Adjustment of Pinhole Spacing and Size During Treatment
The basic pinhole spacing is typically 1-2mm.
Depending on the condition of the scar, the spacing can be widened to 3mm or more, or the treatment can be performed more closely.
After the medical staff directly confirms the location, shape, and thickness of the scar, they adjust and apply the pinhole spacing and depth.
3. Ablation Depth: Precise Depth Setting for Upper or Lower Dermis
It is important whether to provide shallow stimulation or deep stimulation during the procedure.
It can target only the upper layer of the dermis,
or it can access the collagen layer in the lower dermis.
The scope and depth of treatment are individually determined based on the skilled judgment of the medical staff.
This would be difficult without sufficient clinical experience.
4. Customized Treatment Process Performed Directly by Medical Staff
After a direct consultation with the medical staff, the procedure proceeds.
They directly check the condition of the lesion,
plan the pinhole position and spacing for each scar,
and adjust the laser intensity according to the patient's skin condition.
After the procedure, they thoroughly check the recovery process,
and provide detailed guidance on whether to proceed with the next treatment and the appropriate interval.
Understanding Hypertrophic Scar New Skin Laser (Pinhole Method)
New Skin Laser (Pinhole Method)
uses a CO₂ or Erbium YAG laser to create microscopic holes at 1-3mm intervals within raised scars. This separates excessively proliferated collagen tissue,
and is a procedure that aims to gently soften the structure of scar tissue for natural improvement.
This procedure works on the deep dermal layer in a way different from typical Fraxel, and is known to be suitable for papular or hypertrophic scar types that require access to deep dermal layers rather than simply shaving the surface.

Q&A
Answers to the questions we hear most.
What kind of scars is it effective for?
New Skin Laser can primarily help improve raised, convex scars. However, since the shape and depth of scars vary for each individual, it is best to visit our clinic directly and consult with a specialist to discuss an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
What machines are used?
Our clinic utilizes CO2 laser and Er:YAG laser for New Skin Laser treatments. Our medical team will select the appropriate method, considering the characteristics of the treatment area and the patient's condition, to create a customized treatment plan.
Are there any precautions?
Occasionally, small scabs may form after the procedure, and it is important to let them fall off naturally. Please be careful not to pick them off artificially. Additionally, please avoid using scrubs or exfoliating products that can irritate the treated area for a while, and apply sunscreen diligently when going out, as this will aid in recovery.
Cautions
Results = Treatment × Aftercare. Please follow the notes below.
