Features of Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic's New Skin Needle (Subcision) Treatment
* Three-Stage Approach of Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic's New Skin Needle
Stage 1: Separation of Superficial Adhesion Layer
Fibrous adhesions widely located beneath the skin's surface are precisely broken using micro-needles.
This is a delicate process of carefully removing the fine fibrous structures that pull scars downwards.
As a result, sunken areas can be naturally improved.
Stage 2: Treatment of Deep Adhesion Tissue
Hard adhesion tissues located deep within the dermis
are gently separated over a wide area using a cannula.
This method reduces the burden during treatment compared to needles used in the past (which caused bruising and pain).
It can be particularly helpful in improving broad scar types such as rolling or boxcar scars.
This serves as an important process in reducing the occurrence of bruising or pain.
Stage 3: Tissue Regeneration Promotion (Microneedling Application)
In the final stage, microneedles are used to induce a very small bleeding response in the skin tissue,
thereby creating an environment where blood flow and various growth factors can concentrate in the treated area.
Through this process, fibroblast activation is expected, and collagen production can be promoted.
Systematic Combination Treatments at Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic
These are combination treatments that can help enhance treatment effectiveness and reduce the burden of recovery time.
① Concomitant PDRN Injection (DNA Injection)
PDRN injections are performed in conjunction with the New Skin Needle treatment.
This can help with wound healing and contribute to reducing redness and hyperpigmentation that may occur after treatment.
As a factor contributing to enhancing the regenerative potential of scar tissue, our clinic applies this as one of the fundamental treatment procedures.
② Combination with Erbium YAG Fraxel, Reducing Recovery Burden
While subcision treatment primarily aims to improve internal skin structure,
it has limitations in improving the fine texture or overall quality of the skin surface.
Therefore, our clinic fundamentally combines Erbium YAG Fraxel after the treatment.
This acts on shallower skin layers to help improve skin texture, pore size, and subtle indentations on the surface.
This reduces the burden of recovery time and allows for positive effects on overall treatment results.
What Makes Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic's New Skin Needle Special?
* Treatment Design Based on Anatomical Understanding
Rather than a treatment that simply emphasizes depth,
considering which skin layer has adhesions and in which direction they should be released for effective results.
From the diagnostic stage, a detailed treatment plan is established.
* Utilization of Precision Instruments
By combining micro-needles, cannulas, and microneedles,
we can help reduce treatment burdens such as bruising, swelling, and pain, while still achieving desired results.
* PDRN and Fraxel Combination Treatments as a Standard
Combination therapies that aid in the recovery process and enhance treatment efficiency
are considered essential procedures at our clinic, not optional elements.
* Accurate Diagnosis Instead of Indiscriminate Treatment Recommendations
Subcision is not suitable for all types of scars.
If a scar does not necessarily require treatment, I frankly tell patients that the procedure is unnecessary.
I believe that medical staff should prioritize accurately 'assessing' a patient's condition over 'recommending' treatments.
What is Subcision?
Scars are often pulled downwards by tissues located deep within the skin.
The skin surface may appear indented, but in reality, beneath the dermis,
a fibrous tether is fixing and pulling down the scar area.
Breaking these adhered bands can help the skin return to its original position.
The procedure that separates such internal structures is Subcision.
How Subcision Works
1. Release of Adhered Tissue
The fibrous bands located deep within the skin are
carefully broken using a medical needle or cannula.
→ As the adhesions pulling the skin downwards are released, the indented scar can be expected to improve upwards.
2. Induction of Micro-Bleeding (Regeneration Signal)
The micro-bleeding that occurs during the process of breaking adhesions
can be an important signal to promote new collagen production.
→ This induces the activation of fibroblasts, providing a foundation for new tissue regeneration around the scar.
3. Promotion of Blood Circulation and Tissue Regeneration
Additionally, microneedling and PDRN (DNA injection) may be applied together to
help blood circulation and induce the concentration of cells necessary for regeneration,
which can help support wound healing and collagen synthesis simultaneously.
Who can consider Subcision?
Indented scars on the forehead that appear as if poked
Scars on the temples that are deeply depressed and have an irregular surface
Indented scars on the nose area appearing as one, two, or multiple dot-like lesions
Complex types of scars appearing as various shapes of indentations or depressions on both cheeks
What is Multi-Subcision? (Adding Erbium YAG Shouldering to the existing 3-step approach of Subcision)
This is an improved approach that applies the shouldering technique to the existing Subcision procedure.
For scar improvement, simply releasing the adhesions beneath the scar may not be sufficient.
Even if adhesions are released with subcision, for scars with distinct and deep borders, there may be limitations in achieving complete skin flattening.
The human body tends to match the damaged area to a similar height and texture as the surrounding tissue when repairing it.
However, if the scar borders are abruptly deep, this natural healing process may be difficult to achieve smoothly.
Therefore, a process of finely smoothing the scar borders into a gentle slope (shouldering) is necessary.
Through this approach, the height difference with the surrounding skin is reduced, allowing the scar area, when filled, to connect more naturally with the side lines, leading to visually less noticeable results.
In fact, there are many cases where improvement was difficult with traditional Subcision alone, and this is directly related to the issue of scar borders.
Even if adhesions are sufficiently released, if the scar borders remain steep, achieving the desired level of tissue regeneration may be difficult.
Therefore, the shouldering technique becomes a significant step in complementing the limitations of existing treatment methods for deeply indented scars with distinct borders.
Types of Patients Who May Consider Multi-Subcision
1) Those who have not achieved satisfactory results from previous Subcision or general scar improvement treatments
If you have previously received subcision or laser treatments but feel that scar improvement is insufficient
This is because even if the base of the scar has been released, if the boundary with the surrounding skin remains steep, it can be difficult for the skin to regenerate on its own.
In such cases, by smoothly refining the scar edges through a shouldering procedure, you can expect more satisfactory improvement.
2) If the scar is deeply indented and has clear, steep edges
Especially, for scar types that are deep and sharply indented, like boxcar scars, even if new skin regenerates from within,
the side edges remain like a wall, becoming a factor that hinders complete recovery.
By using Erbium-YAG shouldering to smoothly adjust the scar edges, it helps reduce the height difference with the surrounding skin, promoting a natural blend.
3) If you expect improvement with fewer sessions than traditional regenerative needle treatments
Traditional regenerative needle treatments usually require more than 10 sessions to expect gradual improvement. In contrast, multi-layered regenerative needle treatment is a method that comprehensively addresses the adhesion under the scar, steep edges, and the surface layer.
Therefore, it is expected that you can experience changes with fewer sessions compared to traditional regenerative needle treatments.

Q&A
Answers to the questions we hear most.
Does Saesalchim hurt?
Discomfort varies by person. It may feel similar to acne extraction. Anesthetic cream is applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort.
How many sessions are usually needed?
The number of treatment sessions required can vary depending on several factors, such as the depth and shape of the scar, and the patient's skin condition. Generally, gradual improvement can be expected through consistent treatment, so it is best to consult with medical staff to create a treatment plan that is right for you.
Is there any downtime?
Temporary redness (erythema) may appear after the procedure. In most cases, it does not significantly interfere with daily life, but the time it takes for the redness to completely disappear may vary depending on individual skin characteristics.
What is the difference between 'Saesalchim' (Scar Regeneration Acupuncture) and 'Multi-Saesalchim'?
Scar Regeneration Acupuncture (Saesalchim) is a procedure that induces skin regeneration by breaking down adhered fibrous tissue beneath depressed scars. Multi-Saesalchim builds upon the basic principle of Saesalchim by adding a 'shouldering' process, which gently smooths the sharp edges around the scar. This can lead to more delicate improvements, especially when applied to deep and well-defined scars.
If the skin is 'shaved' with Multi-Saesalchim shouldering, will the scar not appear larger?
Shouldering is not about enlarging the scar's area, but rather a process of gently smoothing the distinct boundary between the scar and the surrounding skin. This encourages the skin to regenerate more naturally and blend harmoniously with the surrounding skin, reducing the prominence of the scar.
Cautions
Results = Treatment × Aftercare. Please follow the notes below.
Occasionally, tiny scabs may form, but it's best to let them fall off naturally. Forcibly removing them can lead to side effects such as hyperpigmentation, so please be careful.
It is recommended to avoid alcohol, smoking, high-temperature saunas, and strenuous exercise for about 1 week after the procedure.
Please be careful not to rub or unnecessarily stimulate the treated area.
To minimize skin irritation, it is recommended to refrain from using peeling products for 1 week after the procedure.
